    GALENA–With the April 4 referendum approaching, the Galena School Board decided Tuesday, Feb. 21 to allow Superintendent Greg Herbst to reopen discussions about the purchase of a piece of property contiguous to the middle school campus and to direct Herbst to accelerate the planning and design phases for the Galena Middle School additions.

    GALENA–Vincent G. Thiltgen, 88, of Monroe, Wis., formerly of Warren, passed away on Jan. 14, 2017, at Azura Memory Care in Monroe.

    Cremation Rites were accorded and private family burial will be at a later date.
