    ROCKFORD–Roger Laurin “One Putt” Stoddard, born March 15, 1947, to Laurin and Elsie Stoddard, passed away May 16, after a month-long roller coaster ride following a stroke.

    A public visitation will be held at Woodbine Bend, 3500 East Center Road, Stockton, on Sunday May 27, from 2-4 p.m. followed by a private family gathering.

    In lieu of flowers, we ask that you do a good deed for another and make a donation to a local food pantry such as Roger’s favorite, FACC, 514 South Chicago Ave., Freeport, IL 61032.

    Funeral services will be 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home in Scales Mound, with Pastor Elizabeth Rutherford officiating. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Scales Mound Township Cemetery.     STOCKTON–Edith Mensendike, 90, Stockton, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Waverly Place Nursing Facility, Stockton.

    A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, at the Calvary United Methodist Church, Stockton. Interment will take place in the Elizabeth Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
